Eat, Learn about VR, and Network in New Orleans

The VR and Amusement worlds converge in New Orleans next week for Amusement Expo 2020

I am hosting two extraordinary dinners in New Orleans! Would you like to join an amazing group of operators?

For those of you who are curious about VR, but want deeper insights into where it’s going and how it might impact your business, these events for specifically for you.

Monday at 8:00 PM will be at Emeril’s flagship restaurant, where I have reserved the Wine Room for an intimate private dinner.

Tuesday evening at 6:30, we will be at Commander’s Palace, perhaps the most iconic restaurant in NOLA.

Seating is limited to 12, and I am holding a few seats open for operators curious about virtual reality as it applies to the amusement industry. If this is you, please click to reply to this email ASAP with which night you prefer, and hopefully, there’s a seat left for you.

If you can’t make dinner, but still want to get your questions answered about VR, click to reply with Let’s Meet at AEI and my business manager, Kylie, will book a time to chat.

For the third year, I will be hosting the VR education event the day before the trade show. We listened to the feedback from the audience last year, and have pulled back on the number of panels creating more time for networking.

The 3rd VR Summit at Amusement Expo kicks off on Monday, March 9th, at 9:45 AM with a panel discussion between yours truly, immersive technology expert Kevin Williams of KWP Ltd., and Alexis Macklin, research manager from Greenlight Insights, which closely follows the LBVR market.

We will be prognosticating the future of location-based virtual reality from business, technical, and consumer market growth perspectives to provide operators, distributors, and solution providers with a glimpse of the future to help them evaluate virtual reality as an opportunity for their businesses.

At 11:00, my friend Sean Griffin, formerly with Disney, The VOID, and now President of Nomadic, will be sharing his learnings on how to convert spectators into players. One of the biggest challenges we all have is getting people to fork over their hard-earned money for something they don’t quite understand.

From 1:30 to 2:30, Jan Goetgeluk from Virtuix will share his deep insights into how operators are using esports and VR to drive repeat play and destination traffic.

From 2:45 until 3:30 I will be moderating a powerhouse panel of Kevin Bachus from Dave and Busters, George Smith from Family Entertainment Group, and George Speakman from Shaffer Distributing. We will be exploring VR operations from the perspective of a large enterprise, third party operations, and for the family-owned business.

I look forward to seeing many of you in one of the world’s great cities.
